Oasis

Oasis, the iconic Britpop band from Manchester, England, is one of the most influential groups in music history. Formed in 1991 by the Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam, Oasis first struck gold with their albums Definitely Maybe (1994) and What’s the Story) Morning Glory? (1995), featuring hits like “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger.”

Despite their massive success, internal conflicts, particularly between the Gallagher brothers, led to the band’s split in 2009 after their final album, Dig Out Your Soul (2008).

Their public disputes included arguments, altered lyrics aimed at each other, and even physical altercations during recording sessions. However, Oasis’ popularity endured, and fans have longed for a reunion.

On August 27, 2024, Oasis announced their comeback with a UK and Ireland tour for summer 2025, dubbed the “Live ’25 Tour.” This reunion has generated significant buzz, though some speculate that financial motivations may play a role in this revival rather than genuine reconciliation.

LINKIN PARK

Linkin Park, the American rock band renowned for blending genres like nu-metal, alternative rock, and electronic rock, made waves with their groundbreaking 2000 album Hybrid Theory

However, the band’s journey took a tragic turn with the death of lead vocalist Chester Bennington on July 20, 2017. The band honored him with a tribute concert at the Hollywood Bowl and released the live album One More Light Live.

Years later, Linkin Park made headlines with the addition of Emily Armstrong from Dead Sara and Colin Brittain as new members. They released the album From Zero and are set to embark on a significant six-tour journey in 2024, marking their triumphant return.

BIG BANG

In the K-POP world, military service is a rite of passage for South Korean men, which often impacts group activities. BIG BANG chose to have several members enlist between 2017 and 2018, releasing a “goodbye single” before their service.

After their mandatory military service, with member Seungri retiring amid scandals, and their Coachella reunion plans in 2020 canceled due to COVID-19, fans rejoiced when BIG BANG released “Still Life” in April 2022, topping Korean music charts. They continue to hold a significant place in K-POP after nearly two decades.

Frog Eyes

Canadian post-rock band Frog Eyes disbanded in 2018, much to the dismay of their fans, especially those who appreciated Carey Mercer’s unique vocal style. Mercer’s new project, Soft Plastics, failed to capture the same attention, prompting his return to Frog Eyes.

In February 2022, Frog Eyes reunited and released their ninth album, The Bees. The album signaled their readiness to re-engage with their fan base, who eagerly welcomed their return.

My Chemical Romance

In the mid-2000s, My Chemical Romance gained fame with their distinctive emo-rock sound and creative music videos. Their albums, from The Black Parade to Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, were marked by continuous evolution.

By 2013, internal tensions led to their split, with members pursuing solo projects, including Gerard Way’s successful Umbrella Academy in 2019.

The band announced their reunion and said they had worked together for the previous two years. At that time, they planned a North American tour in 2020, which was postponed due to COVID-19. They remain dedicated to entertaining their fans as they continue their journey.

Fall Out Boy

Fall Out Boy never officially disbanded, but after their 2008 album Folie à Deux, they took a hiatus for individual projects.

Vocalist Patrick Stump faced harsh criticism during his solo endeavors, leading the band to regroup quietly. They returned in early 2013 with the album Save Rock and Roll, sparking excitement among fans. Their comeback was a success, leading to two more albums and chart-topping hits in the U.S.

My Bloody Valentine

My Bloody Valentine, a seminal shoegaze band formed in 1983 with main members Kevin Shields, Colm Ó Cíos óig, Bilinda Butcher, and Debbie Googe, gained acclaim with albums like Isn’t Anything and Loveless.

Then, they faced financial and internal issues, leading to a lengthy hiatus. In 2008, they reunioned and released m b v in 2013, which received enthusiastic responses from fans and critics alike, solidifying their influential status in the genre.

These bands are set to bring fresh energy and innovation to their music, and their comebacks are sure to be thrilling events. Stay tuned for their new releases and tours – you won’t want to miss it!
