Get Ready for the “New Disneyland” – First Time in 15 Years, Coming to Abu Dhabi

Get Ready for the “New Disneyland”
On May 7, 2025, entertainment giant The Walt Disney Company announced an agreement to build a new resort at a landmark location — the “7th Disney theme park in the world” — marking the first new Disney park in 15 years. This will also be the first Disney park in the Middle East, located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Disneyland Abu Dhabi will be situated on Yas Island, a renowned hub for entertainment and leisure.

A world-class destination for entertainment and leisure, this will be the first time Disney opens a Western-style theme park in the Middle East. This spectacular project promises to transport everyone into “A Whole New World,” featuring a castle unlike any other in the world!

Blending advanced technology with the modern architecture of Abu Dhabi, the park will showcase a stunning spiral-shaped glass structure. The highlight of the park will be its unique transparent castle. For this project, Disney is partnering with Miral. The new resort will be developed and constructed by Miral, while Disney and its team of designers will lead the creative design and oversee operations.

Yas Island is located just 20 minutes by car from downtown Abu Dhabi. The island also features a golf course, marina, seaside roads, shopping malls, and around 165 restaurants spread across the island.

As for Disneyland Abu Dhabi, no official opening date has been announced yet, as the project is still under construction. The estimated build time is approximately 5–7 years. Once completed, the new theme park resort will offer the unique Disney brand of entertainment, Disney-themed accommodations, and storytelling that blends the essence of Disney with the futuristic vision and culture of Abu Dhabi.
