Death Valley National Park, California, USA

Death Valley National Park is the hottest place on Earth. This park is located in Furnace Creek, California. The desert covers parts of California and Nevada, located in the lowest and driest valley area in the United States. In summer, the temperature in this park is normally up to 49 Degrees Celcius.

In 1913, statistics recorded that this park had the highest temperature in history at 57 Degrees Celsius. However, in 2023, the statistics record showed that the temperature in summer was up to 53.9 Degrees Celsius and experts stated that the temperature tends to be higher due to global warming.

Timbuktu or Tombouctou, Mali

Timbuktu or Tombouctou is an ancient city located on the southern edge of the Sahara Desert in West Africa, Mali. In 13 – 14 centuries, this city was once a trading hub where many people came to trade and was the most flourishing city in Africa. It is not a surprise that the temperature here can be as high as 54 Degrees Celsius because the temperature during summer is around 42 Degrees Celsius.

Dallol, Ethiopia

Dallol is a dangerous place in Ethiopia. This place has a strange topography. It is a large fan-shaped basin known as the “Gateway to Hell”, filled with yellowish and greenish ponds that are boiling all the time. The air around here is full of poison from chlorine and sulfate gas.

The average temperature at Dallal throughout the year is around 34.4 Degrees Celsius, but the temperature during the day can be as high as 49 Degrees Celsius. Despite the severely hot weather, the Afar, a small group of people, who are herdsmen can adjust themselves to the rough weather in Dallol. They rely on traditional knowledge handed down from generation to generation to maintain their own communities.

Al' Aziziyah, Libya

Al’ Aziziyah is a small city located in the northwestern part of Libia. Back in 1922, this place was recorded as the hottest place in the world with a temperature high up to 57.8 Degrees Celsius. Although meteorologists argue over this matter, it’s not unusual because, in the summer of Libya, it was over 50 degrees Celsius during the day.

Kuwait City, Kuwait

Kuwait City, Kuwait, the Middle East, is the hottest place in the world with a high temperature of 54 Degrees Celsius. People in Kuwait are facing the unbearable heat which makes them limit their outdoor activities and have to hide in buildings, shades, and air-conditioning rooms. However, the animals are not that lucky, especially birds. Villagers said that they saw birds drop dead from the sky many times and the seahorses in the sea were boiled to death because of global warming. People in Kuwait are urging Kuwait not to let the temperature rise any higher.

Kebili, Tunisia

Kebili is one of the oldest Oases in Tunisia and North America. It is a perfect Oasis in the desert, filled with palm trees and salt lake. The temperature here was once high at 55 Degrees Celsius in 1931. This city is also famous for being one of the most ancient cities in Africa. In the past, it was a slave trade in Africa to meet the needs of Europe. Today, Kabili relies heavily on agriculture and tourism.

This is just one of the hottest places on Earth. Many more and more places in the world are increasing in temperature every year due to global warming. Even in Thailand, it is also facing severe weather. The consequences of global warming will affect our lives inevitably in the future.
