Here it comes again for PM2.5. Recently, the cloudy sky in Bangkok is not caused by fog or clouds but by dust or PM2.5! which affects our health badly. There is a huge difference between normal dust and PM 2.5. People with allergies may have a hard time in life at the moment. Today, ACU PAY will show you about how PM2.5 affects our health and how to prevent it. Let’s start.
It is dust with a smaller than ordinary dust. It is smaller than 2.5 microns or about one-25th of the hair’s diameter. It’s so small that our own nostrils cannot filter and can also be easily distributed into the respiratory tract. Burning and many construction projects are causing PM2.5 dust at present.
On February 6, 2023, the Bangkok Air Quality Information Center released a summary of PM2.5 measurement results with the following details:
The fact that we inhale PM2.5 dust frequently in the body may not have any symptoms at first, but if accumulated, it will have a long-term and short-term impact on the body and skin.
A short-term skin effect: This causes problems with rashes along the body, allergic rashes, urticaria, and increased wrinkles around the cheekbones.
A short-term health effect: It causes coughing, sneezing, strong breathing sound, nosebleed, including pink eye, burning eyes, itchy eyes, or irritation.
A long-term effect: Skin deterioration is caused by continuous contact with dust, which causes the skin to wither easily and wrinkles over a long period, and chronic cardiovascular disease or lung cancer.
