6. Don’t sew clothes

It is believed that those who ‘sew’ on Chinese New Year will encounter only obstacles and difficulties throughout the year.

7. Don’t use sharp things

8. Don’t give out red envelope in odd number

Numbers are another important thing in Chinese culture. Most Chinese love even numbers because they believe that “good things often come in pairs.” However, not all even numbers bring you luck. For example, the number 4 must be avoided because it is pronounced like “death” in Chinese. Therefore, the amount of 44, 400, or 4,000 is not appropriate. If anyone wants to be rich, the recommended number is 8 because they believe it will bring prosperity to the giver and the receiver.

9. Don’t break things

It is believed that ‘breaking’ of containers such as glasses, vases, plates or bowls can lead to bad luck, loss, and conflict within the family. Therefore, you should be very careful during the Chinese New Year. 11. Don’t give presents with bad meaning

The gift that we intend to give may become a curse to the recipient without knowing. Therefore, check the meaning of the presents before giving them.
