How many types of Introverts are there?

Introvert is a name to call people who have a high private world or enjoy being alone rather than socializing. However, this group of people may not be as hard to understand as you think. They just have desires or interests that are different from others. How many types of introverts do you think there are?

1. Social Introvert

Being an introverted person does not always mean that you do not like to socialize. This type of introverted person loves to socialize but prefers to hang out with a small group of friends rather than party with a lot of people. How socially introverted people recharge themselves by doing activities that they like, being with themselves in their favorite corner, or hanging out with a small group of friends rather than going out and using up their energy with a lot of people.

  • Remember to recharge yourself
  • Do not try too hard to make others happy in an unfamiliar situation (You will exhaust yourself)
  • Spend time with your family and friends that can make you be your true self

2. Thinking Introvert

This type of introvert is like a daydreamer. They tend to immerse themselves in their thoughts, which are not just fantasies, but creative ideas, making them very innovative, but they do not dare to share their ideas with others. They will show their ideas through work rather than speech.

Self-care Tips

  • Find a hobby that can make you release your creativity
  • Do not get too immersed in your thinking till you forget the real world

3. Anxious Introvert

This group is the absolute opposite side of social introverts. The anxious introverts do not like and avoid socializing, especially when they have to meet someone they have never met before. They will be anxious, unconfident, uncomfortable, and do not dare to speak when they meet strangers. Although the event passed, the anxiety remains in their head. They will stick to repeated thoughts which are often negative ones.

Self-care Tips

  • Try writing down the situation that makes you anxious and find a way to fix or reduce your anxiety.
  • Remember that the end of the story is always good. If it is not good, that means it is not the end yet.
  • Consult with a psychologist or psychiatrist to ask for help if you feel you cannot handle this alone.

4. Restrained Introvert

Restrained Introverted people are often seen as sluggish people who rarely talk or respond immediately, in fact, these people are good analysts. They often spend a lot of time planning in their heads before they talk or do anything. In the face of various situations, they often take time to think carefully before they act or speak so that they would not use words in a misleading or hurtful way. Since these people seldom talk to others, they are afraid they may use words incorrectly.    

Self-care Tips

  • Wake up a little early so that you will have time to manage your life or refresh yourself by drinking water
  • Arrange your ideas and thoughts before doing anything. Take your time to think and do. 

Introverts being divided into four categories is an important step to expand the meaning of the word “Introvert” more than just “a group of people who like to be alone or live with close friends” and also help us understand more about ourselves.
