To prevent various forms of crime, if any of the accounts have different names, the account owner must register with the service center to update the names so that mobile banking can be used as usual.
According to the inspection in Thailand, there are 106 million mobile banking accounts and about 30 million accounts with different names. The government’s goal is to close the mule account to about 100,000 accounts per month.
Since May 27, 2024, the inspection of the mule account and mule SIM has been initiated by the owner of the account to change the SIM card that has the name of the old account owner. However, exceptions may be made in some cases when opening an account for children or elderly parents, but there must be processing with the bank, otherwise, the account may be suspended.

Mobile banking of any account user is unable to operate, possibly because the registered phone number and SIM card do not match. It can be operated at banks and operating points. However, in some cases, such as opening accounts for children and the elderly will be at the discretion of the bank to consider exceptions.
