The Thai Meteorological Department’s weather forecast for September 8–9, 2022. The strong monsoon trough lies across the central, eastern, and lower northeastern regions. And the relatively strong southwest monsoon covers the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf of Thailand.
This resulted in heavy to very heavy rainfall in the northern, northeastern, central region, including Bangkok and its surroundings, eastern, and southern regions. The wind waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand are quite strong, with wave heights of 2-3 meters, and in areas with thunderstorms, waves higher than 3 meters.
On September 10-14, 2022, the monsoon begins to weaken and will move up to the upper North and Northeast regions, while the southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand is weakening. but it is still causing Thailand to have heavy rain in some places.
Caution: on September 8–9, 2022. people in Thailand should beware of the danger of heavy to very heavy rain and cumulative rain that will cause flash flooding. Sailors in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand should proceed with caution and avoid sailing in thunderstorms. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand should not leave the shore today.
