Let’s get to know about “Nosebleed”

The nosebleed, or Epistaxis, is caused by blood flowing from the nose which is divided into two parts: The nasal vestibule and the Nasopharyngeal which will be more severe than The nasal vestibule because it is a larger blood vessel area than the front. During cold or dry weather, the nasal mucosa will be more likely to dry than usual, and when rubbed, skid, pick out, and scratched may cause nosebleeds to bleed easily.

The causes of Nosebleed

  1. Have an inflammation in the nasal cavity. Maybe it’s caused by an allergy, sinusitis, or an adulterated thing to our noses.
  2. Irritation and injury in nasal. It is caused by frequent nose picking until it becomes a habit or getting an impact force on the nose, including nose job surgery or sinus surgery, etc.
  3. Anatomical abnormality. It is to have a wall that blocks the nasal cavity or has wrong bone growth, including through holes that cause abnormal air imbalance.
  4. Have a tumor on one’s nose. Like being a sinus or having both malignant and non-fatal tumors.

The right way to stop nosebleed

Many people still use the method of stopping nosebleeds, which is to raise your eyes high. This method can be considered a very wrong method because it is to take back bad blood into the body. Let’s see what is the right way to prevent nosebleeds.

  1. Squeeze your nose a little. The nasal wall in the front has a lot of small blood vessels in the front, so a nose squeeze will stop the bleeding.
  2. Sit straight. Sitting straight will lower your blood pressure.
  3. Keep your head down a little to prevent any blood from falling down your throat. Blood in your throat can cause choking and irritation.
  4. Breathe through your mouth because if you squeeze your nose, you might have to change the airway to oral respiration.

In addition, people who have frequent nosebleeds may need to wash their noses with saline to prevent the nasal mucosa from drying up, as well as eat vegetables and fruits that contain vitamin C and adjust the air in the bedroom to be not too dry.
