The thing that everyone should know is that not every food should be kept in the refrigerator. Many people misunderstand that keeping food in the refrigerator is a way to preserve food to last longer. In fact, there is some food that can be kept in the refrigerator but some cannot because it will make the food lose its taste and eventually get rotten. Today, we are going to take a look at the list of food that should not be stored in the refrigerator.

1. Bread

Many people put bread in the refrigerator because they believe that the refrigerator can extend the bread’s lifetime, but putting it in a refrigerator may make the bread hard, not as soft as it should be, and also give it an unpleasant smell. But if there is a large amount of bread, it is recommended to put in a ziplock bag and keep it in the freezer. When you want to eat, take it out and rest it at room temperature.

2. Tomato

It is known that vegetables and fruits must be kept in the refrigerator, but not fresh tomatoes. It will make the fresh tomatoes wither and bruise faster than usual, including having an unpleasant taste as well. So, you should buy the right amount of tomatoes and keep them in a box at room temperature.

3. Garlic

Garlic should never be kept in the refrigerator!! If you don’t want the roots to grow because storing garlic in the refrigerator will give it a high moisture content. Therefore, it should be kept in a dry, unmoisturized place. It will prolong the garlic’s life.

4. Coffee

Coffee has a property to absorb the smell. When putting coffee in the refrigerator, it will absorb the smell of food inside the refrigerator and result in a different aroma and taste and not as good as before, so it should be kept in a sealed bottle and avoid getting out in the sun.

5. Beans

If the beans are kept in a refrigerator, they will not be as crispy and tasty as usual because they can absorb moisture and smell inside the refrigerator well. Therefore, it should be kept in a boxed container and sealed tightly. It is best to place them in a dry place without storing them in the refrigerator.

6. Potato

Potatoes will go bad if kept in the refrigerator, also make the potatoes bitter and harsh to the taste and cannot be cooked. Potatoes should be put in paper bags and placed in a place where there is no sunlight, and potatoes should not be put in plastic bags because they will produce more fungi.
