What is Panic Disorder?

Panic is a type of anxiety disorder, also known as panic disorder, caused by reduced or sudden changes in hormones causing the autonomic nervous system to malfunction like an electrical short circuit in many parts of the nervous system that controls the body’s function in many parts therefore many symptoms occur together. Patients are prone to fear and unexpectedly panic a lot. The symptoms occur repeatedly until they affect their daily lives. The causes of Panic Disorder

The symptoms of Panic Disorder

Panic patients experience unprovoked fear or panic attacks, known as panic symptoms. This symptom is sudden and can occur at any time. Panic attack is a more severe symptom than general stress. It usually occurs for 10 to 20 minutes. Some cases may experience an hour-long panic attack, Panic patients experiencing the following symptoms:

  • Heart throbbing, heart pounding, chest tight.
  • Sweaty and feeling hot and cold.
  • Fast breathing, shallow breathing, or shortness of Breath.
  • The dizziness, the wobble, the feeling of floating, or feeling like going to faint.
  • Fear of everything, especially death
  • Cannot control oneself and cannot live alone

Treatments

Panic can be treated with medication to balance abnormal brain chemicals or blood tests for physical causes. For treatment to be more effective, psychological treatment must be followed. Adjusting the patient’s thoughts and behaviors as well as those around them should understand the disease and encourage patients. Breathing exercises to calm oneself is another method that can help reduce stress and anxiety, something patients can do on their own. Patients should also be in an environment that is conducive to a happy life.
