Advantages of Blood Donation that you might not have heard before.

Blood donation is considered another volunteer and philanthropic activity. Blood is quite important in treating patients, and Thailand currently has a significant shortage of blood. The blood donations were publicized multiple times, but it wasn’t enough. Today, we are going to take a look at the benefits of blood donation and coordinates of blood donation centers in Bangkok.

Blood Donation

Did you know that donating your blood doesn’t have any effect on your body? Before we move on to the benefits of blood donation, let’s take a look at how many people we can save per time of  blood donation. Our donated blood can be divided into 3 groups as follow;

  • Red blood cells: It is used to treat patients who have lost blood in accidents, surgery, Anemia patients, Postpartum Hemorrhage, or red blood cell disorders.
  • Plasma: There is a factor in blood coagulation used to treat patients with protein deficiency shock from dehydration, and scald.
  • Platelets: It is used to treat patients with low platelet levels such as dengue fever, leukemia and patients with non-stop bleeding from accidents or operations.

Only one person of ours can save many more people. However, is it not enough because the number of donors is less than the number of people who need it. There are some people who came to donate their blood but their blood cannot be used such as people who have previously suffered from heart disease or have been infected with hepatitis B or have had sexually risky behavior.

How to prepare before donating your blood

Preparing to donate blood is very important because it is about the quality of blood that needs to be used, and it also protects our health.
